At Fire Tanks Australia, we are passionate about fire safety and, in particular, the safe working condition of your tanks.
There are many types of tank liners made from different materials with different load strengths which are rated for different purposes. They all come with different price tags depending on what you buy. It’s very important that the correct liner be used for the purpose of your tank.
Unfortunately, incorrect tank liners can be installed either due to a lack of knowledge or sometimes disregard in an attempt to save money by purchasing a cheaper liner than what is required.
This image shows a combined drinking water and fire tank system at a multi-storey residential apartment block where we completed a 10-yearly clean and inspection:
One of the first things we noticed was that the liner installed in the tank was not rated for use in drinking water. This means that, from the time of installation, the tank liner had potentially been contaminating the drinking water supply for all residents in the building.
This is just another reason why it’s so important to have fully qualified and licenced contractors working on your fire tanks. When it comes time for your tanks to be cleaned and inspected, the question you need to be asking is, “Are my tanks FTA approved?”
